August Favourites!

I am very late to do this post and I am terribly sorry! To be quite honest, it had absolutely passed my mind. If you follow me on instagram @ biscuitsnmakeup, you will get more reliable updates on my favourites. But I promise I will try and be more frequent with my favourite posts!

My friends, Julie and Hani, and I have decided to do a Favourites collaboration post stating our favourite products of the month August! I was curious as to what their items were and what they had been reaching for the most and what a better way to do so, than to write a post about them! This month I can only say I have been on a Laura Mercier craze. I have been gravitating towards her products more often and just can’t get enough of them! Just love the Tinted Moisturiser, the Translucent Setting Powder, the Caviar Eyeshadow sticks… just all of it really. In this post, I’ll be featuring my most used and most favourite products of the month of August!

Item 1: Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Eye Shadows

These miracle bottles are the most pigmented eyeshadows I have ever used in my life. It is so intense in colour and yet you can sheer it out and it is still have such a colour pay off. One of the best things about this product is that it is so unique. You will rarely see an eyeshadow or pigment be in this kind of form. It is watery and yet very long lasting when dried. I love the colours and how great the consistency is! I love the texture, the formula and the blendability of this product. Another great thing about this is that it is all organic and animal cruelty free! If you would like to know more, I had written up a full review on this product, click here to check it out.

Honestly, Josie Maran is a brand that is well under appreciated in the makeup industry. The products are such great quality and deserve a standing ovation.

Item 2: Lancome  Cushion Miracle Foundation

I have yet to write a blog post about this foundation. But I am incredibly in love with it. It is easy to apply, has a great texture, feels great on the skin and looks absolutely flawless on my complexion. It is great for people that have dry skin as it does not accentuate dryness, nor does it show fine lines. It lasts a very long time on the skin and is just amazing! It provides light to medium coverage, depending on the amount of product you put on. It does not oxidise and has an SPF of 23! You will feel a cooling or fresh sensation when you apply this on and it just makes your skin feel nicer and hydrated. And can we take a moment to talk about the elegant packaging?! The travel-friendly compact is stunningly elegant and luxurious! It looks good when you hold it or let it sit on your vanity! Just a great foundation for everyday and on the go! Visit Haute Flashes‘s post for more information on this product! Both Julie and I love this compact!

Item 3: Laura Mercier Limited Edition Face Illuminator in ‘Indiscretion’

The most stunning highlighter I own as of date! It is just an amazing highlighter with warm, rose-gold colour with micro-shimmers passing through the powder. It is just a product that goes so perfectly on warm-toned complexions but honestly, if you like it, wear it! It has a great texture, is not powdery or large in particles like the MAC Skinfinish Powder and blends like a dream!

I’m sorry to have to include a limited edition item in my favourites, but I just could not not include it in my favourites. I have been using it religiously, not just on my cheeks, but also a pop of colour in my inner corners. Just a beautiful iridescent highlighter that provides great pigmentation, great longevity and great texture! Just everything I want in a highlighter. For more information, check out my post here. Or if you want a second opinion, check out Julie’s view on it, at Haute Flashes!

Item 4: Laura Mercier Lip Parfait in Amaretto Swirl

Saved my favourite for last! This one lipstick speaks volumes. Even though it looks like an ordinary lipstick, it really isn’t! It has the moisturising qualities of a lip balm, the pigmentation of a lipstick and the shine of a gloss. I have been wearing this one lipstick every time I stepped out of the house.

The formula of this lipstick is just phenomenal! It is very creamy, smooth and gentle on the lips. It does not bleed, it does not dry out your lips and it does not feel uncomfortable on the lips! Honestly, it is the perfect lipstick for me! Even though it says that it has the shine of gloss, it is not sticky or tacky. It just feels incredible to wear on your lips. You cannot go wrong with this lippy!

Well that’s my favourites for the month, August!
